Personal Information Protection Policy

MIWA LOCK Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as the “Company”), recognizes that the protection of personal information is a social responsibility of the Company and has therefore established this policy. This policy shall be made known and thoroughly understood by all employees as well as associated personnel and strictly implemented.

1. Objective of the Personal Information Protection Policy

The Company shall realize a strict and comprehensive protection of personal information and provide continued safety and peace of mind to customers as well as employees.

2. Handling of personal information

The Company will establish a management system in order to protect personal information in accordance with business operations conditions when handling said personal information of customers and employees and handle them in an appropriate and careful manner.

(1) Collecting personal information
When collecting personal information, the objective for the collection of this information shall be made clear to the customers and employees. The collection of the information shall be conducted using legitimate and fair methods, limited only to information necessary to achieve the said objective.

Personal information shall only be used to the extent required in order to achieve the objective of use consented to by customers and employees.
(3) Providing personal information to third parties
Personal information shall only be provided to third parties to the extent required in order to achieve the objective of use consented to by customers and employees. Unless legally bound to do so otherwise, personal information shall only be provided to third parties after prior consent has been received.
(4) Managing and monitoring of subcontractors
If operations are subcontracted to a third party in order to achieve the objective of use consented to by customers and employees, the subcontractor will be managed and monitored appropriately in regards to the handling of personal information.
(5) How we use cookies

5. Respecting the rights of customers and employees

The Company respects the rights of customers and employees, and shall immediately respond to customer or employee requests to disclose, change or delete their own personal information as well as requests to deny the use of or the provision to third parties of their personal information.
